Research Topic

His research is focused on the study, development, and characterization of nanostructured platinum group metal-free electrocatalysts (PGM-free) for the oxygen reduction reaction in fuel cells. Using a multidisciplinary approach concerning electrochemical, morphological, and spectroscopic techniques aims at finding new improvements to this class of electrocatalyst.

Valerio is currently engaged in the LAZIOINNOVA – BASELINE project in collaboration with the Department of Physics, Sapienza University of Rome. He is collaborating with national and international Researchers, Prof. Plamen Atanassov (University of California, Irvine, USA), Prof. Carlo Santoro (University of Milan-Bicocca, Italy), Prof. Enrico Marsili (Nazarbayev University, Kazakistan).
